PRN / On-Call Pharmacist
We are seeking a licensed Wisconsin Pharmacist to provide PRN, weekend, and after-hours pharmacy coverage. This role is ideal for someone comfortable working independently, handling on-call dispensing needs, and providing safe and accurate medication support to patients.
Schedule
- PRN / as-needed basis
- Approximately 2 scheduled weekend shifts per month on a 4-week rotation
- 3–4 on-call evenings per week
- Additional weekend and PTO coverage as needed
- Weekday coverage: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Weekend shifts: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Weekday on-call: 6:00 PM – 10:00 AM
- Weekend on-call: 4:00 PM – 12:00 PM
On-Call Compensation
- $75 per night on call
- $75 per dispensing call/order
- $1,000 bonus once the pharmacist has been on payroll for 30 days from hire
Responsibilities
- Accurately review, prepare, and dispense prescription medications
- Ensure medications are appropriate, safe, and compliant with applicable pharmacy regulations
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, storage, and drug interactions
- Monitor medication compliance and identify potential medication-related concerns
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient medication needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient and pharmacy records
- Assist with medication compounding as needed
- Maintain appropriate pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory
- Provide patient education regarding medications and medical devices
- Support pharmacy technicians, interns, clerks, and other pharmacy staff as needed
- Respond to after-hours dispensing needs while on call
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Active Wisconsin Pharmacist license
- Comfortable working on-call, overnight, and weekend coverage
- Strong communication and patient counseling skills
- Ability to work independently and respond appropriately to urgent after-hours pharmacy needs
Preferred
- Non-sterile compounding experience
- Previous on-call or overnight pharmacy experience
Salary : $65 - $75
