Staff Pharmacist
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Additional Schedule: Evening shift (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM) 1–2 nights per week as needed
Job Overview
We are seeking a licensed Staff Pharmacist to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, provide exceptional patient counseling, oversee pharmacy operations, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Shift Requirements
- Monday–Friday
- 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Evening shift (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM) required 1–2 nights per week
License Requirements
- Active Pharmacist license in the practicing state
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor medication compliance and identify potential overuse or misuse.
- Counsel patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Answer patient questions and provide medication-related education.
- Compound medications for internal and external use as needed.
- Prepare sterile medications following established protocols and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Monitor and maintain pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
- Identify and resolve medication-related issues while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Provide clinical services such as blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol management, smoking cessation counseling, and education on medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other pharmacy support staff.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Current, unrestricted pharmacist license issued by the state pharmacy board.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication therapy management, and patient counseling.
- Experience with sterile compounding is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
