Pay Rate - $23 per hour
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team to work in our clients home. Staff member will need to be highly interactive and focused on client engagement and enjoy taking client out in to the community. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, patient care, and a strong understanding of the unique needs of those they support.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide personal care and support in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor clients’ health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines.
- Assist with medication administration as required, following HIPAA guidelines.
- Engage clients in social activities and community integration to promote independence and social skills.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Document client progress and any incidents accurately in compliance with organizational policies.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a group home setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and patient monitoring techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice care practices is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients as needed.
- Experience in home health or senior care environments is beneficial.
- A background in nursing or social work may be advantageous for this role.
