We are looking for passionate and energetic individuals to join our team as Teacher Assistants for our Pre-K Classroom the 2025-2026 school year.
STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt
LOCATION: Mamaroneck Central Elementary School in Larchmont, NY
PAY: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
HOURS: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
SCHEDULE: 10 months (aligned to district calendar)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Applicants should possess motivation and creativity, demonstrate a positive demonstration of strong interpersonal communication skills, be active in working within a team, and consistently demonstrate punctuality and attendance.
- Assist the Lead Teacher with the classroom's appearance, décor, and learning environment.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining an environment for children that is clean, safe, stimulating, and appropriate for each child’s developmental level.
- Assume an equal share of the staff's housekeeping responsibilities.
- Meet and maintain licensing requirements for the ratio.
- Assume the role of leadership in the absence of the Lead Teacher.
- Interact with the children using developmentally appropriate practices.
- Ability to manage the classroom through positive redirection, problem-solving, setting appropriate limits, and active listening.
- Support Lead Teacher in the development and implementation of lesson plans.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- An associate's degree in education or a related field is preferred.
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred).
- Classroom management: 1 year (Preferred).
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred).
- Lifting and carrying children.
- Close contact with children.
- Direct supervision of children.
- Assisting children with toileting and hand washing.
- Must have the stamina and physical flexibility (walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, pulling, running, reaching, climbing, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.) without assistance to participate in children’s activities.
