We are looking for passionate and energetic individuals to join our team as Teacher Assistants for the 2025-2026 school year for our Pre-K Classroom.

STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt

LOCATION: Mamaroneck Central Elementary School in Larchmont, NY

PAY: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

HOURS: 8:30 am - 1:30 pm

SCHEDULE: 10 months (aligned to district calendar)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Applicants should possess motivation and creativity, demonstrate a positive demonstration of strong interpersonal communication skills, be active in working within a team, and consistently demonstrate punctuality and attendance.
• Assist the Lead Teacher with the classroom's appearance, décor, and learning environment.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining an environment for children that is clean, safe, stimulating, and appropriate for each child’s developmental level.
• Assume an equal share of the staff's housekeeping responsibilities.
• Meet and maintain licensing requirements for the ratio.
• Assume the role of leadership in the absence of the Lead Teacher.
• Interact with the children using developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to manage the classroom through positive redirection, problem-solving, setting appropriate limits, and active listening.
• Support Lead Teacher in the development and implementation of lesson plans.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• An associate's degree in education or a related field is preferred.
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred).
• Classroom management: 1 year (Preferred).
• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Lifting and carrying children.
• Close contact with children.
• Direct supervision of children.
• Assisting children with toileting and hand washing.
• Must have the stamina and physical flexibility (walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, pulling, running, reaching, climbing, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.) without assistance to participate in children’s activities.
