Responsibilities
- Prepare the sterile field and arrange instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures and assist the surgical team with instrument handling.
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and staff as needed; perform instrument and sponge counts accurately with the team.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and overall room readiness before, during, and after procedures.
- Support room turnover, including cleaning and sterilization of equipment and surfaces following cases.
- Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and hospital policies to protect patient safety.
Requirements
- Active CST credential via NCCT (current certification)
- Minimum 2 years CST experience
- Knowledge of sterile technique, instrument handling, and OR protocols
- Ability to work in a hospital operating room setting
- Willingness to travel to the assignment location and meet travel assignment requirements
