Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff across evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts.
- Coordinate clinical activities, monitor patient acuity, and adjust staffing in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
- Support nurses in managing emergencies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
- Facilitate competency assessment and ongoing staff development for shifts and weekends.
- Collaborate with Nurse Managers and off-site Clinical Leaders to maintain consistent, high-quality patient care and effective communication.
- Serve as a liaison between off-shift staff and leadership to promote positive patient outcomes and timely information flow.
Requirements
- Active NYS RN licensure
- Minimum 3 years of acute care RN experience
- Minimum 1 year of critical care experience (preferably ED)
- Minimum 1 year of leadership/charge nurse experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certification required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work in a high-acuity acute care environment with rotating day/night shifts and weekend coverage
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with nursing staff, physicians and the broader care team
