Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for a patient or assigned group according to established standards and the nursing process
- Monitor recovery status in the PACU, respond to changes, and document care and outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments per policy and physician orders
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and other disciplines
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent discretion to support safe recovery and effective handoffs
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team to ensure accurate handoffs and continuity of care
Requirements
- Active RN license
- PACU or perioperative nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 5x8 day shifts and participate in a travel assignment
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to a fast-paced environment
