Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients within scope
- Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications, including routine IV therapies, and transcribe physician orders accurately
- Perform basic nursing procedures as appropriate (e.g., wound care, catheter care) and assist with procedures
- Develop and update care plans, document care in the chart promptly and accurately, and participate in discharge planning and patient education
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including the charge nurse, to coordinate patient care and ensure safety
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Nebraska
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Med Surg nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work night shifts (6 p.m.–6 a.m.) and rotating schedules
- Eligible for travel assignment; adaptable to a hospital setting and standard travel nurse expectations
