Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the ER.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in line with approved techniques, policies, standards of care, and state practice acts.
- Document care accurately and timely in accordance with standards of care.
- Conduct assessments, plan and implement care, and adjust the care plan as prescribed by physicians and unit policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and participate in performance improvement activities and unit practice initiatives.
- Recognize safety concerns, escalate appropriately, and support patient and family education throughout the care plan.
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and either TNCC or TNS
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required
- ER nursing experience preferred/required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ER environment and participate in weekend/holiday rotations as scheduled
