Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging across designated protocols per radiology orders, ensuring image quality and patient safety.
- Operate CT scanner, adjust parameters to optimize image quality, and document procedures accurately.
- Assist with X-ray and fluoroscopy procedures as assigned, maintaining radiation safety and patient care standards.
- Properly position patients, prepare for contrast administration when trained, monitor patients during imaging, and ensure comfort and safety.
- Maintain imaging rooms and equipment, restock supplies, and adhere to department policies and HIPAA requirements.
Requirements
- ARRT registration with CT credentials: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) or R.T. (R)(ARRT) required
- California Radiologic Technologist license (RT) required
- Advanced CT certification: Required in OR and HI; preferred in CA
- Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA if operating fluoroscopy equipment
- BLS certification (AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS) required
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred
