Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy to patients across neonatal through geriatric ages, following physician orders and department protocols. Manage and assist with ventilation and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Provide airway management support including intubation assist, extubation, ETT/trach care, suctioning, and airway clearance therapies; administer noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC) as indicated
• Perform ABG sampling and analysis, monitor ventilator function, troubleshoot alarms, optimize therapy, and perform pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Document care and patient data in the EPIC electronic medical record with accuracy and timeliness; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, PT, pharmacy, radiology, and other services)
• Float to cover units from long-term care to acute care as needed; participate in weekend coverage (every other weekend), major and minor holidays, and on-call shifts as required
  
  

Requirements

• NY license active in hand and available to submit
• Certifications: BLS and RRT
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Ability to work in a hospital setting and adapt to float assignments across units
• Compliance and scheduling: candidates must be located more than 50 miles away; locals within 75 miles are not accepted; verify radius with the hiring manager before submittal
• Onboarding and scheduling: RTO not to exceed 10 days
• Pre-start onboarding modules required; up to 5 module hours billable; total possible module time may reach 10 hours
• Orientation: 24 hours
