Operating room environment in a large, academic, teaching hospital setting; travel assignment with clinical variety and complex cardiovascular cases.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate for cardiovascular/open heart procedures and other OR cases as assigned
• Maintain sterile technique, manage instrument counts, position patients, and support patient safety throughout procedures
• Prepare and troubleshoot OR equipment and supplies; assist with case setup and turnover between surgeries
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and circulating staff; communicate intraoperative status clearly
• Document intraoperative care in Epic EMR within the past two years
• May be asked to float to other OR suites (general, ortho, neuro, ENT, etc.) as staffing needs arise; participate in scheduled weekend on-call as required
  
  

Requirements

• Active RN license to practice in the applicable state
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years OR RN experience with recent cardiovascular/open heart competency; ability to scrub and circulate
• Epic EMR experience within the last 2 years (nonnegotiable)
• Prior travel experience required; experience in large, academic/teaching settings preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and participate in on-call schedules; may require weekend calls every 5 weeks
• May be required to float to other OR suites; reliable transportation to and from work is strongly recommended
