Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to Med Surg Tele patients across R5–R7 units, including monitoring vitals, administering medications, IV therapy, and implementing unit protocols
• Perform bladder scans, blood draws, glucose monitoring, and other routine procedures; operate IV pumps and related equipment
• Document assessments and interventions in EPIC; collaborate with the charge nurse, unit staff, and ancillary teammates (CNA/PCT, unit clerk)
• Support ED HOLD patients as needed and participate in patient flow and float assignments between Tele units; maintain patient safety and infection control standards
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly; coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and escalate to appropriate clinicians when indicated
  
  

Requirements

• Active New York RN license (in file at submission)
• BLS required; NIHSS required prior to starting
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience; minimum 1 year in Medical-Surgical Tele specialty
• Certifications: BLS required; CMSRN preferred
• Ability to work in a hospital Med Surg Tele environment and to float to R5/R6/R7 tele units as needed
• Availability to work 2 out of 3 holidays and every other weekend, per unit needs
