Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients on a medical-surgical rehab unit, including assessment, monitoring, and administration of medications
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and families to develop and implement the plan of care
• Document care and patient progress in the Cerner EMR; ensure accurate and timely communication of changes in condition
• Support patient and family education and participate in discharge planning and patient teaching
• Act as a resource for junior staff and float to other units as needed within scope of practice; may serve as backup Charge Nurse when assigned
• Maintain safe, high-quality care and adherence to professional standards and hospital policies
  
  

Requirements

• Active Vermont RN license (or eligibility for VT licensure)
• 2 years of recent Med Surg Rehab experience
• Charge Nurse experience required
• Willingness to float to other units within scope of practice
• Previous travel experience (at least 3 months)
• BSN strongly preferred
• Cerner EMR experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications active
• Must have own vehicle; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
• RTO requests must be included in profile; no more than 5 days of time off will be approved; all scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application
