Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate treatment plans
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved techniques, policies, standards of care, and state practice acts; document accurately and timely
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans in coordination with physicians and hospital policy; provide patient and family instruction to support ongoing care post-discharge
• Monitor patient status for safety and experience; identify and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command; participate in department performance improvement activities
• Support care continuity by sharing clinical expertise across units as needed; may float to other units to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care and unit needs
  
  

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license; CPR/BLS certification; Flu vaccination required
• Education verification required; ability to provide proof of education as part of compliance
• Experience: experienced Med Surg RN preferred; prior med-surg clinical background
• Ability to work in an inpatient medical-surgical setting and, as needed, float to other units
• Demonstrated ability to perform nursing duties within scope of practice and maintain patient safety and quality of care
