Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiac imaging, including adult and pediatric echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE, including structural heart) and stress echocardiograms as available at the assignment
• Take measurements and calculations according to laboratory protocol
• Provide an oral summary of preliminary findings to the interpreting physician when requested
• Ensure patient safety and well-being within the Echo department and maintain clear, respectful communication with patients and care teams
• May inject/administer Ultrasound Enhancing Agents (UEA) and perform saline bubble studies as trained
• Be available to take call and work weekends/holidays on a rotating basis
  
  

Requirements

• Active cardiac sonography certification/registration as required by state and facility
• Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent for echocardiography
• Experience performing adult and pediatric echocardiography, including transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and stress echocardiography
• Ability to inject/administer Ultrasound Enhancing Agents (UEA) and conduct saline bubble studies as trained
• Effective communication skills with patients and the healthcare team; commitment to patient safety
• Eligibility for a traveling assignment and ability to work a rotating 3x12 schedule with on-call requirements
