Overview

OR Tech travel assignment in a hospital setting located in Plattsburgh, NY. Start date: 05/18/2026 for 16–32 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,985–$2,032 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0. Shift: 3x12 days. Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub in OR cases as assigned, maintaining sterile technique and room readiness
• Prepare ORs, position patients, drape, and assist with instrument setup and counts
• Manage instrumentation, tissue packs, and case carts; support anesthesia and surgical teams
• Assist with varied specialties (vascular, ortho, robotics, general, ENT, plastics, neuro) as cases are scheduled
• Ensure efficient room turnover, equipment function, and adherence to infection control standards
• Document patient information and intraoperative notes in the electronic medical record (EPIC); aid with patient transport when needed
  
  

Requirements

• Current NY license as an OR Tech
• NBSTSA Surgical Tech certification or equivalency (Surgical Tech Certification Verification – equivalency acceptable)
• BLS certification required
• Approximately 2 years of OR tech experience; prior travel experience preferred
• Must have vascular skills; circulating is required; scrub experience preferred
• Solid knowledge of OR procedures across ortho, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, neuro; trauma II or higher experience preferred
• Ability to work in a floating role and rotate among OR units; on-call and weekend coverage as scheduled
• Documentation in EPIC; ability to coordinate patient transports when needed
