Responsibilities

• Deliver direct, supervised occupational therapy services to residents, following the plan of care developed by the supervising OT
• Implement therapy activities and adaptive strategies to improve activities of daily living, mobility, and independence
• Monitor resident progress, document outcomes, and communicate changes to the supervising OT and care team
• Assist with patient education for residents and families on therapeutic exercises, safety, and home activity plans
• Ensure safety during treatment, proper use and maintenance of equipment, and adherence to infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support residents’ goals
  
  

Requirements

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in South Dakota (or eligibility as applicable)
• Graduation from an ACOTE-accredited OTA program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Ability to work in a fast-paced long-term care setting and follow established protocols
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Prior experience in a nursing home/long-term care environment preferred but not required
