Payroll & Benefits Specialist
The Opportunity:
The Human Resources Payroll & Benefits Specialist plays a central role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while also managing the company’s benefits programs with precision and care. This position blends technical payroll expertise with a people-first HR mindset, supporting employees throughout the full lifecycle of compensation and benefits.
What you’ll do:
Payroll Administration
- Process biweekly payrolls for all employees with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ensure 401(k) files for bi-weekly payroll and accurately sent to administrator
- Maintain payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, leaves of absence and pay changes.
- Audit timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies with managers and employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Prepare payroll reports for Leaders as needed
- Manage year-end payroll tasks, including W-2 distribution and tax filings.
Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans.
- Coordinate open enrollment, benefits changes, and employee education sessions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits questions and issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure timely enrollment and termination processing in the HRIS Benefit Platform
- Work with vendors and brokers to manage plan updates, billing, and compliance.
Human Resources Support and Compliance
- Assist with 401(k) and SOC audits annually
- Coordinate interviews and background checks for applicants and new hires
What we expect from you
- 3-5 years of payroll and/or benefits administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and benefits compliance.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems, preferably with Paycom Payroll System
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field.
- Experience in a multi-state payroll environment.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $75,000-$85,000
