What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Accounting Representative position at HEALTHCARE EMPLOYEES FEDERAL CREDIT UNION?
Objective: Assists in managing and maintaining Financial Operations/Accounting, Risk, Audits, and Compliance.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or at least 4-years relevant experience within a financial institution accounting department. Must demonstrate organization skills, critical thinking, knowledge of GAAP/CECL, have excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills. Experience with internal controls, audit, and financials.
Equipment Used to Perform Essential Functions: Computer, phone, calculator.
Essential Job Functions:
· Process daily accounting transactions; including, general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries
· Prepare and review all bank reconciliations daily, resolving account discrepancies and variances
· Maintain accurate records in compliance with GAAP, NCUA regulations, and credit union policies
· Assists with Accounts Payable functions
· Supports month-end, and year-end closing activities
· Works with external auditors to prepare and provide required documentation
· Performs monthly audits of new loans and new membership accounts
· Provides internal support and responds to accounting related inquiries
· Assists in the assessment and evaluation of financial performance of the organization
· Assists in the preparation, maintenance, and presentation of periodic financial performance reports
· Other duties as assigned
