This role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver patient care, ensuring accountability, evaluating care effectiveness, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.
Position Overview
Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Telemetry unit, ideal for those interested in cardiac and acute care nursing in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to cardiac and telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to patient condition changes
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health
- Maintain accurate documentation
- 35-bed cardiac telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Support from PCAs
- Common diagnoses include STEMI, CHF, arrhythmias, hypertension, stroke, and post-cardiac procedures
- Active RN license (Missouri or compact)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications within 30 days
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience in telemetry, cardiac, critical, or medical-surgical nursing
- Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills
