Occupational Health & Safety Specialist

This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining workplace safety programs to ensure OSHA compliance and promote a safety-first culture in a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, investigating incidents, managing workers' compensation claims, and coordinating emergency response plans. The specialist will monitor workplace hazards such as dust, noise, and ergonomics, administer PPE programs, and deliver OSHA-compliant safety training in collaboration with HR. Supervisory duties include overseeing Safety & Sanitation Technicians and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
• 3-5 years of safety experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation processes
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in investigation, hazard identification, and corrective actions
• Computer literacy with documentation and recordkeeping expertise
• Ability to work safely around dust, noise, equipment, and varying temperatures
  
  

The role requires passing a background check and drug screening. The specialist will collaborate with production and environmental teams to support overall EHS initiatives and serve as the safety resource for operational staff.
