Role: The Respiratory Therapist RRT provides advanced respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary deficiencies within physician prescriptions.
Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic tests, interpret results, and oversee equipment operations to ensure optimal patient care. Administer medications safely, monitor patient progress, and communicate findings to healthcare teams. Educate patients and families on self-care techniques. Complete accurate documentation, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and act as a resource and mentor to staff. May assist with special projects, float to other departments, or be on-call as needed.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapy program and registered as an RRT. Current state license, BLS, and certifications such as PALS, ACLS, or NRP are required. Must have strong patient care, critical thinking, documentation, and communication skills. Physical ability to lift patients, operate equipment, and navigate busy environments is essential.
