About Us

Health Extension is a fast-growing, third-generation, family-owned premium pet food brand serving retailers, online and international markets. We’re scaling fast and investing in a more sophisticated finance operation to support our next stage of growth, including a recent NetSuite ERP implementation.

We’re hiring a hands-on, analytical Controller who can bring structure, discipline, and visibility to our financial operations.

What You’ll Do⭐ Drive Financial Insight & Operational Decision-Making (Top Priority)

You will:

• Analyze margins, pricing, and cost structures across all channels.
• Identify profit leaks and operational inefficiencies.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to improve financial outcomes.
• Support pricing models, inventory planning, and cost control strategies.
• Your insights will directly shape strategic decisions and the company’s profitability.



Core Accounting Leadership

• Own the month-end close process and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Maintain the GL, accruals, journal entries, and bank/credit card reconciliations.
• Produce monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting integrity.

AP/AR Ownership

• Own the entire Accounts Payable function — including processing and paying all vendor bills.
• Manage and support 1 AR team member responsible for billing, collections, and account accuracy.
• Monitor daily cash flow and create short-term forecasting visibility.

Inventory, Costing & COGS Accuracy

• Partner with warehouse operations to ensure accurate receipts, cycle counts, and adjustments.
• Validate landed costs, freight, duties, and manufacturing costs.
• Ensure the financials accurately reflect physical inventory and item costs.

NetSuite Leadership

• Develop dashboards, saved searches, and workflows that improve financial transparency.
• Ensure proper setup of financial modules, costing, and reporting.

Qualifications

• NetSuite experience required.
• CPG, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy background preferred.
• 5 years in accounting or controlling roles (CPA not required).
• Strong Excel/Sheets and financial modeling skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
• Experience in high-growth or founder-led environments is a plus.
