The Supervisor, Training will:
- Intentionally strengthen leadership capacity across the division by building a modern, values-based leadership development program grounded in best practices, emotional intelligence, accountability and servant leadership principles;
- Serve as the strategic driver for leadership development, ensuring that managers and emerging leaders are equipped with the skills, mindset, and tools needed to lead with clarity, compassion, and confidence in a complex public service environment.
How does it get done?
The Supervisor, Training is responsible for:
- Designing, implementing, and continuously improve a comprehensive leadership development framework for current managers and staff preparing for management roles;
- Developing and delivering leadership coursework focused on core competencies such as: People-centered leadership and empathy, Effective communication and conflict resolution, Coaching, Change management and resilience, Accountability and decision-making;
- Incorporating current leadership theories, adult learning principles, and evidence-based training strategies into curriculum design;
- Assessing organizational leadership gaps through data, feedback, and collaboration with division leadership and human resources;
- Facilitating in-person, virtual and blended learning experiences that are engaging, practical, and applicable to real-world challenges;
- Measuring training effectiveness through evaluations, performance indicators, and continuous feedback loops, adjusting programs as needed;
- Promoting a leadership culture rooted in trust, respect, accountability, and employee well-being;
- Staying current on emerging trends in leadership development, workforce engagement, and public-sector management.

- All internal Health Care Authority (HCA) staff.
Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate has experience:
- Devoting a substantial portion of time assigning and directly supervising work of at least two (2) permanent/full-time employees;
- Acting upon leave requests, conducting annual performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions;
- Conducting training of personnel; may interview and recommend selection of applicants;
- Providing career coaching through mentoring and arranges for outside training opportunities when possible;
- Making well-informed, effective, and timely decisions and perceives the impact and implications of those decisions;
- Making point of view in a clear and convincing manner;
- Listening effectively and clarifies information as needed;
- Identifying and analyzing problems; weighing relevance and accuracy of information; generating and evaluating alternative solutions; making recommendations;
- Developing networks and builds alliance; collaborates across boundaries to build strategic relationships & achieve common goals;
- Building and managing workforce based on organizational goals, budget considerations, and staffing needs;
- Ensuring that employees are appropriately recruited, selected, and appraised; addressing performance issues;
- Keeping up to date on occupationally specific technological developments; making effective use of technology to achieve results.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field and six (6) years of experience in adult education, instructional design, instructional technology, human resources, employee development, training, and/or producing instructional aid/materials. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience.Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.Must obtain a defensive driving certificate.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.Supplemental Information
