About the Opportunity
A rapidly expanding, PE–backed healthcare company is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its finance team. This role is ideal for a tax professional who thrives in a dynamic, multi-entity environment and wants to play a key role in building scalable tax processes across a growing national platform.
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Controller. As the Tax Manager will oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting across multiple legal entities and joint ventures. This is a high-visibility position within a collaborative finance function that supports both corporate and partner-level operations.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the preparation and review of tax provisions, filings, and book-to-tax reconciliations across numerous entities.
- Manage external advisors on federal, state, and local tax filings and estimated payments.
- Oversee compliance for property, franchise, and other jurisdictional taxes.
- Maintain organized tax schedules, calendars, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor evolving multi-state tax regulations and assess nexus, apportionment, and other exposure risks.
- Support audits and due diligence processes with accurate, timely tax documentation.
- Partner with finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure appropriate tax treatment of transactions.
- Identify opportunities to streamline tax reporting and improve scalability.
- Collaborate with payroll and accounting staff on employment tax and partnership-related issues.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred).
- 5 years of progressive tax experience, ideally within a multi-entity or multi-state structure.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance, including partnership taxation.
- A gritty, agile mindset with the ability to adapt quickly, roll up your sleeves, and thrive in a rapidly evolving organization.
- Experience with M&A transactions, entity structuring, or due diligence is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Excel and ERP/tax systems; exposure to Intacct or similar software is beneficial.
- Clear, confident communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
