Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, and maintain the general ledger
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Assist with tax filings and coordinate with external tax preparers as needed
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP systems
- Familiarity with financial reporting tools
- Prior experience supporting audits
