Job Description:
- Perform and oversee maintenance and repair work on City buildings, parks, landscape areas, streets, and public rights-of-way.
- Conduct inspections, identify repair needs, and complete or document corrective actions.
- Operate and maintain a variety of power tools, vehicles, and maintenance equipment.
- Perform street maintenance tasks, including pavement and sidewalk repairs, curb and gutter work, sign installations, and roadway markings.
- Remove graffiti, debris, hazards, and illegal signs from public spaces.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down facilities for meetings and public events.
- Lead or guide temporary staff and contractors, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
- Prepare reports, work orders, estimates, and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and maintenance instructions.
- Skilled in identifying and troubleshooting maintenance issues across multiple trades.
- Ability to operate building, landscape, construction, and street maintenance tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of safe working practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and around potential hazards.
