Seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of building systems projects while overseeing a team of engineers/designers. This role combines technical leadership, project management, staff development, and client engagement.
Key Qualifications
- PE license required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 8 years of mechanical engineering/design experience
- 4 years leading engineering projects and teams
- Strong HVAC systems design experience
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts for commercial/institutional building projects
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables
- Mentor and develop engineering staff
- Oversee calculations, equipment selections, layouts, specifications, and QA/QC
- Review shop drawings, support construction administration, and conduct field observations
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Support business development and client relationship management
Desired Expertise
- Advanced HVAC system design and controls knowledge
- Strong understanding of building codes and industry standards
- Experience with mechanical rooms, energy modeling, and system optimization
