Your new role
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will take on a leadership position within the building systems group, overseeing electrical design delivery while also managing and developing a team.
This is a hands-on role. You will stay involved in design and QA/QC while driving project execution and supporting the broader growth of the team.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading and mentoring a team of engineers across multiple experience levels
- Overseeing electrical design and production on a range of building projects
- Reviewing drawings, redlining, and driving QA/QC standards
- Supporting project planning, staffing, and delivery alongside project managers
- Working directly with clients, architects, and internal teams
- Contributing to proposals, scope definition, and technical input
What you’ll need to succeed
- PE license (NJ or ability to obtain via reciprocity)
- 10 years of experience in consulting engineering
- Strong background in building systems (power, lighting, etc.)
- Experience managing projects and/or leading teams
- A hands-on approach to design and technical review
- Interest in stepping into a broader leadership role
