The Role
You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and supporting proposal submissions for a range of commercial and government construction projects. Key responsibilities include: reviewing plans, specifications, drawings, and RFP documentation. Developing accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates. Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing. Identifying scope gaps, exclusions, and risk factors. Preparing bid proposals and supporting documentation. Managing RFIs and coordinating pre-construction activities. Working closely with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
Assisting with pricing strategy and final bid reviews
What you'll need to succeed
- 5 years' experience estimating federal, government or commercial construction projects
- Ability to bid across all trades
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience developing scopes of work and evaluating subcontractor proposals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Experience with negotiated contracts and federal projects is highly desirable
