Location: Macon, GA (and Surrounding)
Compensation: $120,000 – $170,000 (based on experience)

A leading Major General Contractor specializing in DOT civil construction is seeking an experienced Bridge Surveyor with strong bridge layout experience to support large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects in the Southeast.
This is a high-impact role working on complex bridge and structural concrete projects, partnering closely with project management and field leadership to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency from layout through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precise bridge and structure layout for DOT projects, including foundations, substructures, superstructures, and roadway tie-ins
- Establish and verify horizontal and vertical control
- Interpret and apply DOT plans, specifications, and tolerances
- Provide layout for piles, footers, columns, caps, beams, and decks
- Verify field conditions and resolve discrepancies between plans and site conditions
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors
- Maintain survey records, daily reports, and as-built documentation
- Ensure layout accuracy while supporting aggressive project schedules
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Surveyor on bridge construction projects (DOT experience required)
- Strong bridge layout background (not roadway-only survey work)
- Experience with heavy civil construction and transportation infrastructure
- Proficiency with survey equipment (GPS, total stations, robotic instruments, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction plans and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in the field environment and travel locally as required
(Licensed surveyor preferred but not required—experience is the priority)
