Are you a strong accountant who enjoys digging into complex problems, finding solutions, and building relationships with clients? A property management firm is seeking an Accountant to join a growing accounting team supporting a large portfolio of community associations in the Bedford, NH area.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage the general ledger and financial activities for a portfolio of approximately 25-30 associations
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, reconciliations, and complex GL issues
- Handle internal and client accounting escalations with professionalism and urgency
- Serve as a trusted accounting resource for clients, providing clear explanations of financial information
- Partner with team members during an ongoing accounting system transition
- Support financial reporting, account analysis, and month-end accounting activities
- Work independently to identify issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions
What You Need to Succeed
- Strong general ledger accounting experience
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance audiences
- Comfortable working directly with clients and managing sensitive financial discussions
- Self-starter who can work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Property management, HOA, condominium, association, or developer accounting experience
- Experience with community association management platforms such as TownSq
- Ability to quickly step into a portfolio and make an immediate impact with minimal training
