Haydon Healy are representing a confidential data center operator seeking a vice president of construction to oversee major development, expansion, and delivery programmes across a growing portfolio.
This is a strategic leadership role suited to someone with deep experience in mission critical construction, data centre development, MEP delivery, and large-scale project execution.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading complex construction programmes from early-stage planning through to delivery, ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially, on time, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of major data centre construction and development programmes.
- Oversee project planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Manage regional construction teams and provide leadership across multiple live and future projects.
- Support site evaluation, development planning, budgeting, scheduling, and delivery strategy.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across commercial, operational, technical, and finance functions.
- Provide senior oversight on project controls, cost management, risk management, and programme performance.
- Build strong relationships with consultants, contractors, vendors, and key project partners.
- Drive consistency, accountability, and best practice across construction delivery.
- Support the business in identifying and delivering future development opportunities.
- Ensure high standards across safety, quality, commercial performance, and stakeholder communication.
Experience Required
- Extensive experience delivering mission critical or data centre construction projects.
- Strong background in MEP-led construction environments.
- Experience leading large teams across complex, high-value construction programmes.
- Strong understanding of development, design, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, contractors, consultants, and senior stakeholders.
- Experience working in fast-paced, growth-focused environments.
- Strong leadership, commercial awareness, and communication skills.
Desirable Background
- Data centre development experience.
- Experience within owner-side, developer, operator, or mission critical environments.
- Degree-qualified in construction management, engineering, architecture, real estate, or a related discipline.
- Senior leadership experience across regional or multi-site portfolios.
