About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Services Technician to support electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair projects throughout the Southeast. The ideal candidate will possess advanced power systems testing experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently on critical infrastructure projects.
Our company is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama and is expanding operations throughout the Carolinas and other Southeast markets.
Responsibilities
- Test, commission, and troubleshoot microprocessor-based protective relays
- Develop and execute testing procedures for UPS systems and generator paralleling systems
- Read and interpret electrical controls and schematics
- Create Methods of Procedure (MOPs), commissioning plans, and testing documentation
- Perform teardown, repair, rebuild, and maintenance of power circuit breakers in the field
- Conduct electrical acceptance testing and maintenance testing on power distribution equipment
- Lead field testing and commissioning activities
- Prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to customers and project stakeholders
Qualifications
Required
- Extensive experience with electrical testing and commissioning
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems and protective relaying
- Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned territories
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Preferred
- Experience with UPS systems, generator controls, and paralleling systems
- Experience writing test procedures and commissioning documentation
- Leadership experience supervising field projects or crews
Travel
Projects are performed throughout:

- South Carolina
- Florida Panhandle
- Puerto Rico
- U.S. Virgin Islands
Travel schedules vary based on project needs and may include multi-day assignments (e.g., 7–8 days on-site followed by time off between projects).
