The Greystone Inn, a historic luxury property on Lake Toxaway, is seeking an experienced Catering Sales & Events Manager to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a polished, detail?driven hospitality professional who thrives in a boutique environment, excels at client service, and understands the unique demands of weddings, social events, and small?group meetings.
As the primary point of contact for planners and clients following turnover, you will guide each event from planning through execution, ensuring flawless service, strong communication, and exceptional guest experiences. You will also play a key role in driving venue sales, optimizing event space usage, and elevating Greystone's reputation as one of Western North Carolina's premier lakefront event destinations.

Job Summary
Event Planning & Execution
- Manage weddings, wedding?related events, social events, and meetings from planning through post?event follow?up.
- Serve as the on?property liaison for planners and clients, ensuring seamless communication and service.
- Prepare all event documentation including BEOs, resumes, agendas, timelines, and planning forms.
- Host Planning Meetings, Site Inspections, and BEO Reviews with clients and internal teams (TripleSeat).
- Oversee group room blocks, cutoff dates, attrition, and special requests per contract.
- Ensure all events comply with fire codes, liquor laws, and property policies.
- Achieve sales targets by sourcing new business and nurturing existing relationships.
- Identify opportunities to up?sell enhancements, services, and venue offerings to maximize revenue.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on ongoing marketing strategies and venue promotion.
- Communicate event specifications clearly to all departments to ensure flawless execution.
- Support operations teams during event days as needed.
- Manage third?party vendor logistics, including Certificates of Insurance and compliance documentation.
- Maintain accurate data entry and reporting within property systems.
- Ensure optimal use of event spaces to maximize commercial value and guest experience.
- Foster a positive, professional, and solutions?focused environment for clients and staff.
- Encourage team input to improve processes, elevate client satisfaction, and strengthen operations.
- Represent The Greystone Inn with professionalism, hospitality, and brand?aligned service standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in event and wedding sales, preferably in a luxury or boutique venue.
- Exceptional multi?tasking, problem?solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage demanding clients, complex events, and tight deadlines with calm professionalism.
- High attention to detail and strong time?management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross?functional teams.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.
- A polished, guest focused communicator who thrives under pressure and adapts gracefully to changing circumstances.
