Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) plays a crucial leadership role in overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to best practices.
- Review documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients based on their unique needs.
- Maintain knowledge of Medicare guidelines and MDS (Minimum Data Set) requirements to ensure proper documentation and reimbursement processes.
- Lead nursing staff meetings to discuss updates, policies, and patient care strategies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through training and professional development opportunities for nursing staff.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and streamline healthcare delivery.
- Ensure that all nursing practices align with current medical terminology and standards of care.
Experience
- A valid nursing license (RN) with a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a clinical setting, including supervisory roles.
- Proven experience in documentation review, care plan development, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, Medicare policies, and MDS assessments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while promoting a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
