General Description
The Academic Restorative Coach (ARC) leads, supports, and develops Tier III Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) plans for students demonstrating significant academic, behavioral, social, and/or emotional needs. The ARC partners with building MTSS teams, Teaching & Learning, and Student Support Teams to co-design personalized support plans (goal setting, progress monitoring, data analysis) and supports staff implementation of evidence-based, culturally responsive strategies to increase access to core instruction and accelerate student learning.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an educational field.
- Licensed by the State of Minnesota to teach at the assigned grade level and academic area.
- Relevant experience related to the position responsibilities.
- Proven success working collaboratively with employees, supervisors, parents, and students.
- Exemplary written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Administrative licensure preferred.
- Previous MTSS experience preferred.
- Experience working with middle school students and diverse populations.
- Evidence of culturally responsive practice.
Support for Students (in partnership with teachers)
- Collaborate with teachers and administration to support students demonstrating behavioral, social, and/or academic challenges.
- Lead data-based problem solving and implement evidence-based strategies that increase student engagement and access to core instruction.
- Assist teachers with development and implementation of individualized academic and/or behavioral support plans for small groups and Tier III students.
- Co-plan, design, and co-teach focused mini-lessons during core instruction across content areas.
- Plan, design, and deliver targeted small-group instruction, interventions, or enrichment; monitor progress with data and adjust supports.
- Participate in PLCs and staff meetings to identify and coordinate intervention services.
- Co-lead building MTSS teams and partner with Teaching & Learning and Building Equity Leadership Teams.
- Support teachers in assessing and monitoring student progress; model and coach targeted instruction and intervention strategies.
- Facilitate professional learning for teachers and paraprofessionals on culturally relevant, evidence-based instructional practices and restorative approaches.
- Support PLCs/collaborative teams in lesson and assessment development to accelerate learning.
- Create classroom and teacher resources as needed.
- Develop personalized Tier III plans, perform progress monitoring, and analyze student performance data.
- Provide direct student supports and coach teachers to implement strategies in the classroom.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with families and staff.
- Participate in professional learning, district initiatives, and building leadership activities.
- Supervise students during classroom and school activities as assigned.
- Prioritize, schedule, and complete complex assignments independently.
- Anticipate issues, determine practical solutions, and implement changes.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate positively about the district.
- Demonstrate cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Maintain effective and professional relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Communicate with cultural sensitivity.
- Provide leadership on building and district initiatives, curriculum improvement, and intervention design.
