The employee hired for this assignment will teach middle school science in grades 68. The position requires flexibility in course assignments and collaboration within a teaming model to support student learning and achievement.

Required Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota teaching license appropriate for teaching science in grades 58.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or a related discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.
- Master's degree in a related area preferred.
- Successful prior teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
- Strong knowledge base and experience in Earth Science.
- Experience working with middle school students in a collaborative team setting.
- Evidence of strong relationship-building skills with students and colleagues.

- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and adjusts instruction to meet individual student needs, including students receiving special education and EL services.
- Integrates scientific practices, critical thinking, and real-world application into instruction.
- Maintains accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment data in accordance with district procedures and applicable laws.
- Promotes responsible citizenship and positive student behavior aligned with school and district expectations.
- Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
- Collaborates with grade-level teams and content-area colleagues to review curriculum, analyze student data, and refine instructional practices.
- Participates in professional learning, faculty meetings, and district initiatives.
- Selects and maintains appropriate instructional materials, lab equipment, and supplies.
- Supervises students during instructional and non-instructional times as assigned.
