Traffic Control Supervisor

Title: Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS)- Ruidoso, New Mexico and the surrounding areas.

Reports to: Superintendent or Project Manager

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Local candidates residing in or near Ruidoso, New Mexico are strongly preferred.
• Must possess a valid TCS (Traffic Control Supervisor) Card/Certification.
• Knowledge of traffic control operations, work zone safety requirements, and DOT project specifications.
• Ability to supervise traffic control crews, perform site inspections, and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Role: The Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) is responsible for providing traffic control management in accordance with the Contract and the MUTCD, current edition, including supervision of personnel and the installation, inspection, and maintenance of traffic control devices on the Project. Must have clean driving record.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Traffic control inspections per the submitted and approved traffic control inspection schedule.
• Maintain a Project traffic control diary which must be filled out and signed daily.
• The TCS will be on call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to provide traffic control management as needed and be available by telephone to be on the project within 1 hour if during non-working hours.
• Project traffic control diary entries are required to be made in ink without erasures or white-outs. The TCS shall strike out unacceptable entries and replace with acceptable ones.
• Ensure that the traffic control diary is available for inspection at all times and submit a copy of the diary to the appropriate owner representative.
• Inspect traffic control devices every day that traffic control devices are in use. The TCS shall provide for the immediate cleaning, repair, or replacement of traffic control devices that are not functioning as required to ensure the safety of the motorists and construction personnel.
• Conduct inspections of the traffic control devices at the beginning and end of each day that traffic control devices are in use, and as scheduled or directed by the owner representative.
• All work is within state of New Mexico
• Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time hourly position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5 PM Travel within NM is required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
