Summary
We are seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to support Life & Health reinsurance contracts across the US, Canada, and English Caribbean markets. This role focuses on drafting, reviewing, and structuring traditional reinsurance agreements, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with underwriting intent and market practice.
Job Title: Contract Specialist – Life & Health Reinsurance (Contract)
Location: Armonk, NY or Fort Wayne, IN- Hybrid (3 days in the office, no remote-only option)
Duration: 6‑month contract (with a high possibility of conversion to a full-time position)
Pay rate: $50-$55 per hour on W2
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and review Life & Health reinsurance treaties and addenda
- Own end‑to‑end contract drafting for assigned deals
- Translate commercial and technical inputs into clear contractual language
- Identify and manage contractual, commercial, and operational risks
- Partner with underwriting, pricing, legal, claims, and client managers
- Support contract negotiations and advise on wording and risk trade‑offs
Required Experience:
- 7 years of experience drafting complex reinsurance or insurance contracts
- Strong knowledge of Life & Health reinsurance structures and concepts
- Ability to work independently and engage directly with stakeholders
- Background with reinsurer, insurer, legal, or contract advisory roles preferred
- French language skills a plus (not required)
This is an individual contributor role ideal for candidates with strong commercial judgment and hands‑on treaty documentation experience.
