What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Associate - Cell Culture position at HarveStaff?
We are seeking an Entry Level Scientist to join the Cell Culture team supporting cell therapy development projects. This role focuses on embryonic stem cells (ESCs), induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and general mammalian cell culture activities. You’ll contribute to research, development, and operational work critical to advancing cell therapy and biologics programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform aseptic techniques for culturing iPSCs, ESCs, and CHO cell lines
- Execute cell thawing, passaging, and harvesting for therapy and antibody production projects
- Conduct analytical tasks such as cell counts and monitoring metabolites/gases
- Set up and maintain bioreactors, including inoculations, sampling, feeding, and probe calibration
- Prepare media, feeds, and solutions for cell culture operations
- Document experimental data accurately in databases
- Maintain lab equipment and perform routine calibrations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred but not required)
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and mammalian cell culture
- Experience working in a laminar flow hood and preparing media/solutions
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Additional Details
- Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends
