Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Contractor Sales Representative to join our team at Coshocton Lumber. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with contractors, builders, and construction professionals, ensuring they have the materials, pricing, and support they need for successful projects. The ideal candidate will have strong sales skills, an understanding of building materials, and a customer-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Account Management: Develop and manage relationships with contractor clients, understanding their needs and offering product solutions.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain and share an in-depth understanding of lumber, building materials, and hardware, staying updated on industry trends.
- Quotation & Bidding: Prepare accurate and competitive quotes, bids, and proposals tailored to contractors’ project specifications.
- Order Management: Process and track customer orders, coordinating with inventory and delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Consultative Support: Offer advice on material selection, product specifications, and alternatives to help contractors complete projects within budget and scope.
- Customer Service: Provide top-notch service by resolving issues, handling special requests, and responding to client inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Market & Sales Growth: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the contractor market, working towards achieving sales targets.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the yard, inventory, and operations teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from order to delivery.
- Reporting & Follow-up: Maintain sales records, generate reports on sales performance, and follow up on open quotes or bids.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in sales, business, or construction-related fields is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in contractor sales, building materials, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in sales-related software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to read and understand construction blueprints and plans is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of construction, lumber, or hardware materials is essential.
