Our Lady of Mount Carmel (OLMC), a Catholic elementary school, is searching for a full-time P.E., Health, and Computer Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. OLMC, with its fully degreed faculty, takes pride in its Archdiocesan curriculum and programs. OLMC offers a wide range of educational, spiritual and extracurricular activities. The candidate should be competent at instructing middle school students and ensuring their spiritual and academic growth. In addition, the candidate must be able to assist students who may need additional support.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic and spiritual growth, develops students’ skills and a love of learning. Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
Report participation grades for each Trimester Progress Report and Report Card.
Facilitate P.E. lessons (ideas and structure provided by our F.O.R.M. curriculum) using our equipment in both an indoor and outdoor environment to students Pre-K through 8th grade, and differentiate activities as appropriate. Model safe use of equipment, sportsmanship, and skills relative to the activity. This requires the ability to walk students and equipment across the street to our indoor space during colder weather months.
Facilitate health lessons provided by our F.O.R.M. curriculum to students in Grades K-5. Lessons and slides are provided.
Facilitate activities on the Chromebook and iPads for students in the areas of coding, typing, and learning software. Present pre-created lessons via our curriculum on digital citizenship, computer science vocabulary, and internet safety.
Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.
Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs.
Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school’s behavioral policies.
Maintain positive communication with families.
Attend regular staff meetings and participate in annual reviews and professional development.
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
