Holy Trinity School, in Wallingford, CT, is seeking a long-term Grade 3 substitute teacher. This position would be a full-time medical leave replacement until at least January 2027, with the possibility of the position extending until early spring. Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic growth and performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of Holy Trinity School.
Position Summary
The long-term Grade 3 substitute teacher is responsible for the care and education of Grade 3 students. The teacher will plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate lessons in core content areas, including Religion. The teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of Holy Trinity School and the Archdiocese of Hartford.
Primary Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Planning for and implement instructional methods which motivate and enable each child to achieve learning objectives.
Establishing and maintaining the environment required to motivate and to enable each child to achieve learning objectives.
Maintaining weekly lesson plans and progress notes that monitor student learning.
Being diligent about documenting all incidents and noteworthy behaviors.
Actively participating in all meetings and in-service trainings.
Completing and responding to requests made by the Principal within 48 hours of a written request.

Be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program.
Arrive to be in the classroom ready to work at the beginning of the day and remain until the teaching shift is complete.
