Job Overview
As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health and substance abuse conditions and assisting in their treatment and recovery. Provides direct and indirect patient care. Provides a safe, clean environment. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
Duties
- Provide direct care and supervision to individuals with mental health and substance abuse disorders
- Monitor and record patient behaviors and responses to treatment interventions
- Conduct group educational sessions and recreational activities
- Support patients in daily living activities and personal hygiene routines
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care for patients
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One to two (1-2) years experience as a behavioral health worker preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices
- Experience or training in addiction counseling, crisis management, and behavioral health
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and basic medical procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
