Job Description
The Director will lead investment manager diligence (investment and operational) across hedge funds, private equity, venture, mutual funds, and SMAs, while engaging with liquid, private, and direct investments, options strategies, ad hoc research, and operations for the firm's research team. The role includes supporting junior staff in project management and reporting for investment research presentations. It requires exceptional problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate complex AI-driven analyses into clear strategic recommendations for executive management and portfolio managers.
Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a background in public and private investment research, identifying global equity strategies and monitoring investments on behalf of UHNW clientele. This individual will demonstrate enthusiasm for building and delivering innovative strategy trends through presentations and reports, and the ability to read the business and macroeconomic landscape, adapt strategy, and leverage information for timely decisions.
- Identify and conduct due diligence on global equity managers that best meet the needs, performance objectives, and risk tolerance of the firm's clients
- Analyze and support fund administration and organization for various investment vehicles and projects
- Maintain business relationships with industry participants, collaborating with colleagues to develop recommendations for the firm and its clientele
- Complete written research used by clients and colleagues to support investment decisions, including concise commentaries summarizing meetings with fund managers, in-depth due diligence reports, and other periodic research pieces
- Lead responsibility for completeness and integrity of fund data, ensuring information used by the team is current (e.g., fund descriptions, recommendations, and fund documents)
- Initiate and complete research independently and support analysts and interns
- Mentor and assist junior staff as needed
- Collaborate with the investment research and portfolio advisory team to evaluate market trends across regions and strategies, preparing highly analytical and professional findings for colleagues and clients
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; post-graduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred. Advanced degrees and/or certifications such as CFP, MBA, CFA, CPA, or JD are highly recommended.
- In-Office Environment: This role is primarily in-office, fostering close collaboration, creativity, and real-time problem-solving across the firm's business units.
- Experience: 5 years conducting quantitative or capital markets research in investment management or a closely related field. Must have experience identifying themes and sourcing funds. Experience with private and direct investments is not critical initially.
- Other: Occasionally a nontraditional work week will be necessary, including night and weekend work under tight deadlines. Minimal international and/or local travel may be required at times to accommodate client service or business needs.

Salary : $250,000 - $300,000
