Description

The Project Manager / Estimator is responsible for managing all phases of concrete and masonry projects—from preconstruction and bidding through project completion and closeout. This role requires an experienced construction professional who can independently estimate work, manage project financial performance, coordinate field operations, and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for concrete and masonry scope items.
• Develop competitive bids incorporating labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Manage multiple projects from contract award through completion, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality objectives are achieved.
• Lead project setup and preconstruction coordination within company software systems.
• Prepare, review, and submit project submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other contract documentation.
• Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with field leadership and clients.
• Track project costs, labor productivity, and financial performance to ensure projects remain on budget.
• Lead project meetings with clients, superintendents, and foremen to review progress, resolve issues, and maintain schedule commitments.
• Monitor field production and labor efficiency, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost control.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including budgets, cost reports, billing, and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and company policies.
• Manage project closeout activities including punch lists, final documentation, and financial reconciliation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, vendors, and internal teams while representing professionalism and company values.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in commercial construction project management, estimating, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of concrete and masonry construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with estimating or project management software preferred.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• 2–4 year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with field and office teams.

• Deliver projects that meet or exceed gross margin targets.
• Maintain accurate cost forecasts and manage project budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate effectively with superintendents and foremen to achieve production and schedule goals.
• Identify risk, resolve issues proactively, and maintain strong communication with clients and project stakeholders.
