Project Manager / Estimator
Concrete & Masonry Contractor | Minneapolis–St. Paul Metro
Position Summary
A well-established, union concrete and masonry contractor is seeking a Project Manager / Estimator to bid, manage, and deliver self-perform concrete and masonry scopes. This position offers full project ownership—from estimating through closeout—along with direct client responsibility and a clear path to long-term growth.
The role is approximately a 50/50 split between estimating and project management and is primarily office-based, with occasional jobsite meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
- Prepare accurate bids for concrete and/or masonry scopes
- Price self-perform work on hard-bid and negotiated projects
- Collaborate with BIM/modeling support and field leadership during preconstruction
- Participate in pre-bid and scope review meetings
- Support both existing clients and new business opportunities
Project Management
- Manage awarded projects from kickoff through completion
- Maintain budgets, schedules, job cost tracking, and forecasting
- Coordinate closely with superintendents and field crews
- Process change orders and manage financial performance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
Client & Business Development
- Maintain a list of assigned customers
- Build and sustain long-term client relationships
- Participate in client meetings and relationship development activities
- Work alongside an in-house business development team sourcing new work
Project & Team Environment
- Local Twin Cities projects (minimal travel)
- Mix of commercial, industrial, and select public work
- Focus on structural concrete, slabs, and masonry scopes
- Union labor environment
- Project management team of approximately 10 PMs
- Dedicated support from 5 in-house BIM/modelers
- Collaborative office culture with strong operational support
Qualifications
- Experience estimating and/or managing concrete or masonry projects
- Ability to bid work and run projects independently
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
